As per the latest media updates, China is moving military vehicles and equipment, including DF-16 ballistic missiles on the beaches and roads of the Fujian province.
Beijing, which considers Taiwan to be part of its territory, has threatened “severe consequences” for the highest-ranking US official’s visit in a quarter-century.
“The US is taking provocative actions that could escalate tensions across the Taiwan Straits. It must take full responsibility. The US would surely bear responsibility and pay price for undermining China’s sovereignty and security interests,” a Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said.
The US C-40C aircraft flew in a circle before coming up close to Taiwan over the Philippine Sea.
