A young man who came to travel by train disguised as a woman was arrested by the Railway Security Department yesterday (19) at the Galle railway station.
After he entered the Galle railway station, dressed as a female, a passenger on the platform got suspicious about this person and informed the railway security officials.
During questioning, the suspect had said that he had received information that his fiancee had left him and was having a relationship with another man. This prompted him to disguise himself as a woman in order to find out the truth. Investigations have also revealed that he is a resident of the Makuluwa area in Galle. The suspect has been handed over to the Galle Police for further investigation. The suspect was arrested by Sergeants Abeyratne and Ariyaratne on the instructions of CI Kodithuvakku, Head of the Railway Security Division of Galle Railway Station
