Mahesh Babu to release Pan-India film after ‘Bollywood can’t afford me’ statement: Reports

New Delhi: Mahesh Babu recently caused a havoc on social media with his ‘Bollywood can’t afford me’ statement. For the unversed, during the Telugu press conference for the film, Major, which Mahesh Babu has produced, the star had emphatically said, “I may sound arrogant, I did get a lot of offers in Hindi. But I think, they can’t afford me. I don’t want to waste my time. The stardom and love I have here in Telugu cinema, I never thought of going to another industry. I always thought I will do films here and they will become bigger and my belief is turning into a reality now. I can’t be happier.”

However, as per the recent reports, the Telugu star may have agreed to expand his horizon. According to media reports, Mahesh Babu is all set to make his grand Bollywood entry with a SS Rajamouli directorial. His last film Sarakaru Vaari Paata was also not released in Hindi.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Mahesh Babu’s most recent film, started out strong at the box office but quickly lost steam due to unfavourable reviews and conflicting word-of-mouth. The Parasuram-directed film starring Mahesh Babu and Keerthy Suresh saw a very sharp decrease from day 2 onward, and although it didn’t completely bomb, the distributors nevertheless suffered losses. Mahesh and director Trivikram Srinivas are working together on the latter’s upcoming movie.
