Litro to reduce domestic LP gas prices from Aug. 5

The prices of domestic gas cylinders will be reduced from August 5, LITRO Gas Lanka Limited Chairman Muditha Peiris revealed yesterday (01). Hence, the price of a 12.5 kg LP Gas cylinder will be reduced by more than Rs.50.

Speaking to the media, Peiris observed that LITRO has supplied more than 2.2 million domestic gas cylinders to the market as promised by the company 22 days before.

Peiris also observed that fuel queues no longer exist as the supply chain is getting back to normal.

Peiris also said, “We had to quickly bring the ships carrying gas cylinders as the gas shortage was a major problem. The World Bank is presently facilitating us to fulfill this humongous task. We will continue supplying gas this way. Since the gas price in the world market is set to go down, we believe that we can reduce the prices of gas cylinders by August 5.”

Peiris also said that they would be able to reduce the price of a gas cylinder more than the amount it was increased earlier.
