Kalutara Police yesterday started investigations into the actions of a woman who had left her two-year-old child with a person whom she befriended on board a flight from Dubai to Colombo.
This person residing at Bodhiyawatte in Kalutara South had told Police that the woman with the child was sitting next to him on the Colombo bound flight
Since both of them are from Kalutara she had asked him whether she could be taken to Kalutara in his vehicle to which he had agreed.
When the vehicle reached Kalutara town, the woman had told the man that she wanted to buy a bottle of soft drink and had got out of the vehicle after handing over the child to him. Thereafter she had not returned.
