Excise scam: Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s home among 20 places raided by CBI

New Delhi: The CBI carried out raids at multiple locations in the national capital on Friday morning. The locations targetted by the agency included the residence of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia.

“We welcome CBI. Will give full cooperation in the investigation so that the truth can come out soon. Till now many cases have been filed against me but nothing has come out. Nothing will come out of it either. My work cannot be stopped for good education in the country,” the AAP leader added.

“These people are troubled by the excellent work of Delhi’s education and health. That is why the Health Minister and Education Minister of Delhi have been arrested so that the good work of education health can be stopped. There are false allegations against both of us. The truth will come out in court.”

According to reports, the CBI raided 20 locations in Delhi in connection with the excise scam case.

 

CBI probe recommended last month

The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi had last month recommended a CBI probe against Deputy CM Manish Sisodia over allegations of alleged irregularities in the capital’s new excise policy.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena had directed Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar to submit a report to explain that the new excise policy, in violation of the rules, has been given freedom to prepare, implement and make changes in it as per his wish.
