Enable GingerDonald Karunarathna, an excellent Sri Lankan Cinematographer has passed away yesterday (28). He was living in Los Angeles, America at the time of his death at the age of 75.
Karunarathna was the cinematographer of the excellent directors including Lester James Peiris, Dharmasena Pathiraja, Wasantha Obeysekara and Sumitra Peiris.
He worked as the Director of Photography of more than 65 Sinhala films and was honored with leading film awards in the country including Sarasaviya, Swarna Sankha, Janadhipathi and OCIC.
Mr. Donald Karunarathna’s last rites are to be done in Los Angeles, USA.
