New Delhi: There is big news for about 47 lakh central employees and 68 lakh pensioners of the country waiting for the increase in dearness allowance (DA). The central government can soon give a big gift of increase in DA to the central employees and pensioners once again.
According to reports, there may be a 4 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees and Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners after Durga Puja. At present, central employees are getting DA at the rate of 34 per cent, if the government increases DA by 4 in July, then it can increase to 38 per cent.
However, an official announcement has not been made yet. In the matter of dearness allowance, approval will be taken from the cabinet, only after that its notification will be issued. Many media reports have claimed that the government may soon decide to increase the DA of central employees. It is expected that people can get the benefit of increase in dearness allowance till Navratri. It is believed that the increase in allowance will be done from the month of July itself. In such a situation, the employees will get the arrears of DA for the last two months.
Increase in fitment factor
According to reports, the central government can take a big decision on the fitment factor of central employees. The news is also coming that this can be considered in the cabinet meeting to be held in the coming days. Lakhs of employees will get the benefit of this. Actually, the fitment factor plays an important role in the salary received by the employees. Due to this factor, the salary of central employees increases by more than two and a half times.
Significantly, the central employees have been demanding an increase in the fitment factor for a long time. Central employees have been demanding for a long time to increase the fitment factor from 2.57 per cent to 3.68 per cent. If the central government accepts this demand, then there will be a tremendous increase in the minimum salary of central employees.
The fitment factor decides the basic salary for all central government employees. This time, if there is a possible increase in the fitment factor, then the minimum basic pay will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000.
If DA arrears come, good amounts will be received
The central employees are constantly demanding arrears of dearness allowance for 18 months between January 2020 and June 2021. There is also a lot of agitation about this stuck arrears. It is expected that the central government can find a middle ground and settle it in one go.
