CPC temporarily stops fuel distribution to 12 filling stations

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has taken measures to temporarily stop fuel distribution to 12 filling stations that contributed the least to the QR system.

During a follow-up on the issuance of fuel in accordance with the QR system, it has been revealed that some filling stations have not responded positively to this system.

Accordingly, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has taken steps to temporarily stop the fuel distribution to these 12 fuel stations from yesterday.

Power and Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that it was observed how all the filling stations have worked in using the QR system and accordingly it was decided to temporarily stop the distribution of fuel at about 12 filling stations that have contributed the least to the system.

He also emphasized that the information received from public complaints will be given to the relevant police stations for investigation.

“Also, the QR system and fuel distribution activities are to be continuously regulated,” he said.
