Committee Report on alleged bribe request by minister handed over

The Three-Member Committee appointed by President Ranil Wickremesinghe for an investigation focusing on a request made by former Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva to conduct an impartial investigation on the news published in electronic, print and social media that he had asked for a bribe from Japan’s

Taisei Corporation handed over their report to President’s Secretary Saman Ekanayake yesterday.

The Committee Chairperson retired High Court Judge, President’s Counsel Kusala Sarojani Weerawardena handed over the report to the President’s Secretary at the Presidential Secretariat. Other members of the committee retired Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police S.M. Wickramasinghe and retired special grade officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service S.M.G.K. Perera too were present.

The President appointed the three-member Committee on July 22.
