New Delhi: China says that military exercise are underway by its Air Force, Navy, Rocket Force, Strategic Support Force and Logistic Support Force. These fractions are under the Eastern Theater Command. They are currently operating in six zones surrounding Taiwan.

Chinese joint military exercises are focusing on joint blockade, strike on ground targets, sea target assault, and airspace control operation. They are also testing their joint combat capabilities to test in military operations.

These military drill were catapulted following the much controversial visit of the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. Beijing had earlier issued warning regarding Pelosi’s visit that it will have consequences.

What United States is trying to do is to emerge as a key ally for the island nation for solidifying its de facto independence from China.
Last time China launched missiles into the Taiwan Strait was in March 1996, formally called the 3rd Taiwan Strait Crisis. Is it time to formally declare the start of the 4th Taiwan Strait Crisis?
