Agra: Husband held for pushing wife off to river who later escaped drowning

Agra: The Police arrested a man who pushed her wife from the Yamuna river bridge in Bateshwar in Bah block in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra.

As per the news agency PTI, the accused Arvind took her wife, Santoshi, to Bateshwar on a bike. As soon as the couple reached on the bridge, Arvind pushed Santoshi off it.

However, Santoshi fell into a shallow part of the river so she managed to swim to the bank. Meanwhile, some locals present there also helped the lady to escape drowning.

After this, Santoshi told her maternal family in Firozabad about the incident. After which, her brother Chandrakanth reached police station to file a complaint.

Meanwhile, when the woman’s family called Arvind to know about Santoshi’s whereabout, he cooked up stories to mislead them.

Reacting upon the complaint, the police filed a complaint against Arvind who is a tailor by profession and arrested him.
