Katunayaka Airport Security officers have arrested an employee of the duty-free shopping complex who tried to leave Katunayake airport with 60 gold biscuits hidden in his waist.
Customs officers suspect that these gold biscuits were brought from Dubai to Katunayake Airport, and it has been revealed in the preliminary investigations conducted by the customs that he had arranged for this stock of gold biscuits to be taken out of the airport.
The arrested suspect is a 35 year old resident of Ja-Ela area.
These golden biscuits weighing 06 kg and 995 grams were parceled and were hidden in the waist of the suspect and taken to be taken out of the airport.
