Trader offers dry rations to needy at his shop

A trader offering dry rations worth Rs.5,000 a day for the needy as a solution to the crisis faced by the people is reported from Meegahawella in Yatiyantota. Businessman Chanaka Rajiv who has a wholesale store selling food commodities has placed a table in front of the store where essential goods worth Rs.5,000 in value are placed for the needy. Customers visiting the store also contribute goods to this act.

Also, even sales representatives who carry mobile trade vehicles contribute to this program by providing materials, a programme to provide free transport for patients, especially pregnant mothers, has been started in Yatiyanthota and surrounding areas due to the shortage of fuel these days. For that, I have deployed nine vehicles including my tricycles and cabs.People are being taken to the Karawanella or Theligama hospitals.
