STF finds seven girls lost in Polduwa protest

The Police Special Task Force located seven young women who were among the scattered people who were dispersed during Wednesday night’s protest when the security forces had fired tear gas on the protesters who were preparing to enter the Parliament complex.

The Special Task Force found the rest of the group who came with the young women and reunited them, STF Commandant DIG Waruna Jayasundara said.

He said that during the violence with tear gas and batons being used to disperse them, several other protesters had been found atop trees to escape the charge.
