Special Forces soldier killed by elephant during training exercise

A Special Forces soldier was killed after being attacked by a wild elephant during a training exercise in the Valamandiya forest area in Aralaganwila on Thursday.

Police said the deceased was a 19-year-old soldier who was undergoing training at the Maduruoya Army Special Forces Training School.

He was seriously injured in the attack and died upon admission to the Aralagangwila hospital. The victim is a resident of Ambagasduwa. Aralagangwila Police is investigating.
