NEET Controversy: Kerala High Court to hear plea next week

NEET UG 2022: The Kerala High Court may hear a plea next week regarding a matter, in which, several girls were asked to remove their innerwears to enter the exam hall. The incident occurred when the girls were appearing for the (NEET)2022. 

After protests across the country on this matter, now a Public Interest Litigation has also been filed in the Kerala High Court. In this matter, the High Court has been adjourned for a week and it can be heard next week.

The demand made in the petition: 

The petition, filed in the Kerala High Court, has aimed that a standard guideline should be framed for conducting examinations across the country. The PIL has sought direction from the National Testing Agency (NTA) to allow the affected female candidates to appear for the re-examination, mentioning the negative condition of the day. They should also be given compensation for this.

On 17 July 2022, the NEET UG exam was conducted across the country. More than 17 lakh students participated in this examination. The examinations were conducted peacefully across the country but in Kerala’s Kollam district, girl students were asked to remove their innerwear to be allowed to appear in the examination. As soon as this matter came to the court, there was a movement everywhere. So far, 7 people have also been arrested by the police in the case.
