Gonda (Uttar Pradesh): A man has been arrested allegedly for raping a middle-aged woman woman on the guise of marriage, informed Gonda police.
As per the news agency PTI, the police on Friday detained the accused. The woman filed a complaint saying that she was raped by the man for three years on pretext of marriage.
She further said the man threatened her to kill when she used to pressurise the accused to get married.
Station House Officer (Nawabganj) Tej Pratap Singh informed that the woman, who is from Ghazipur district, is involved in “tantrik” activities.
According to him, a case was filed against the accused on Thursday, and the complainant has been taken to the district hospital for a checkup.
The police official informed that the further action will be carried out after the medical examination.
