Maharashtra: BJP, Shiv Sena getting closer? Uddhav Thackeray gives indications to change ‘power equation’

Mumbai, Indrajeet Singh: Things are not going well in Maharashtra’s Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition, and there are signs that the BJP and Shiv Sena have rekindled their friendship. Leaders of both parties – BJP and Shiv Sena – have been advocating for cooperation, but today Uddhav Thackeray has indicated the most significant progress.

During a programme in Aurangabad, Uddhav Thackeray mentioned the Minister of State for Railways, Rao Saheb Danve, as ‘old cooperative’ and ‘future cooperative’ if ‘we’ come together in the future.

The question now is whether the future is near because, prior to this, Uddhav Thackeray visited the flood-affected area with Devendra Fadnavis, the BJP’s most powerful leader in Maharashtra, and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.

Many Shiv Sena leaders have advocated for an alliance with the BJP. Dissatisfied with the ED, Shiv Sena leader Pratap Sarnaik wrote to Uddhav Thackeray and advocated joining the BJP.

At the moment, many Shiv Sena leaders are on the ED’s radar, with the ED focusing on Anil Parab and Pratap Sarnaik, both close to Thackeray, while Milind, the Chief Minister’s personal secretary, was forced to demolish the bungalow in Alibaug.

Devendra Fadnavis, a BJP leader, has now responded to Thackeray’s statement. Fadnavis stated, “Anything is possible in politics at any time, and it is encouraging to hear that Uddhav ji has voiced our concerns.”

On the other hand, NCP leader and minister Chhagan Bhujbal stated, ‘Opposition parties are never enemies — in politics, all are friends — it would be incorrect to say that Thackeray is upset — Mahavikas Aghadi has no deception or threat.’
