AC Milan gets ‘fried in a pan’ in game against Zalaegerszegi TE in pre-season friendly

New Delhi: After the win against FC Köln last week, AC Milan failed to secure their second win of the pre-season as Zalaegerszegi TE beat them 3-2.

The Hungarian side scored three goals in the first 27 minutes and thus made life too difficult for the Rossoneri. Meshak Izuchukwu Ubochioma opened the scoreline in the 2nd minute with Attila Mocsi and Matyas Tajti following him in the 24th and 27th minute respectively.

Olivier Giroud brought one goal back by scoring a penalty in the 30th minute, but AC Milan had to cover a lot to be back in the game. Rade Krunic saved Milan by scoring another goal in the 86th minute.

Pre-season Friendly: AC Milan says THIS after losing against Zalaegerszegi TE

A disappointed Milan team tweeted, “We wanted to win because this is our mentality. We’ll work to improve our fitness levels #ZTEACM #SempreMilan,” on their official Twitter account.

Former AC Milan tactician, Arrigo Sacchi said, “The others attacked and pressed, the Rossoneri retreated. There was no game in the first half hour. But I repeat what I said at the beginning: definitive judgments cannot be made after a friendly match in July. If anything, I noticed that Milan didn’t press. On the other hand, only Atalanta, Verona and Turin do well in Italy. In modern football, if you don’t attack, you’re fried in a pan.”

“Let’s say right away that there were many reservations in the initial line-up. I noticed that the team is getting too long. Today players need to form a block in constant motion: ready to attack and defend together. At most, the length of the team must be 30 meters, otherwise the connections between the departments will be lost.”

“If fans need to worry? I would say no, it is very early. Slowly the players will get in shape and will also find the right game system. In general, I like our teams to compete with foreign rivals, so they see what kind of football is being played abroad. Speed, pressing and constant movement,” he added.
