As Squid Game fans anticipate the new season, new theories have started making rounds on social media. Without sharing many details, director Hwang Dong-hyuk has also hinted at the return of Gong Yoo.

On Sunday, Netflix posted a teaser of Squid Game Season 2. They wrote, “Red light… GREENLIGHT! Squid Game is officially coming back for Season 2.” In the same thread, the streaming giant also shared the director’s note for the fans. The post was captioned, “Hwang Dong-Hyuk writer, director, producer, and creator of @squidgame has a message for the fans:”  The message read, “It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year. But it took 12 days for Squid Game to become the most popular Netflix series ever. As the writer, director, and producer of Squid Game, a huge shout out to fans around the world.
