Whenever BJP is in power, Kashmiri Pandits have been forced to flee: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi:

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal came down heavily on the Narendra Modi-led central government saying whenever there has been the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the valley, Kashmiri Pandits have been forced to flee.

The Delhi CM was speaking at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar in a rally held against the rising targeted killings in Kashmir.

The CM asked the Centre to show an action plan regarding the protection of Hindu minorities and police force in Kashmir. He said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) failed in the valley as it can not protect the Kashmiri Pandits.

“When they (Kashmiri Pandits) protest against the targeted killings, the present BJP governemnt in Kashmir does not allow them to protest. If the government behaves like this, the suffering of the people becomes double,” said Arvind Kejriwal.

Kejriwal further accused the BJP of doing ‘bad politics’.

With the help of PM relief fund, Kashmiri Pandits were relocated to the valley and given employment. However, the Kashmiri Pandits had to sign a bond binding the employees to work in Kashmir only. If anyone asks for the transfer outside the valley, then they will have to loose their job.

The Delhi CM reiterated, “The era of 1990 has come again. They (Govt) don’t have any plans. Whenever there is a murder in the valley, news comes that the Home Minister has called a high-level meeting, enough of these meetings, now we need action, Kashmir wants action.”

The AAP chief also challenged Pakistan to stop terrorism as the latter will not be able to get Kashmir. Kejriwal further promised full support to the Kashmiri Pandits and everyone living the valley saying that the AAP will stands beside everyone in Jammu and Kashmir.

Kejriwal further said that he will ask the Union Home Minister for his time to discuss on the situation in Kashmir.
