safe. In this, the first 8 digits of your Aadhaar number will not be visible and the last four digits will be visible. In Masked Aadhaar, the Aadhaar number is written like this – XXXX-XXXX-1111. With this, the card cannot be misused even if it is lost or stolen.
Where to use Masked Aadhaar?
Mask Aadhaar card can be used for e-KYC update and verification. Masked Aadhaar Card only displays the last four digits of your Aadhaar. Users can share their Masked Aadhaar for eKYC at places where it is not necessary to share all Aadhaar numbers.
Password protected?
Masked Aadhaar is password protected. So, you can open the file by entering first four letters of your name in capital letters and your year of birth in YYYY format.
How to download Masked Aadhaar?
Step 1:
Log on to the official UIDAI website and click on ‘Download Aadhaar’ option;
Step 2:
Select the Aadhaar / VID / Enrollment ID option and tick the Masked Aadhaar option
Step 3:
Enter the requested information there and click on ‘Request OTP’ option
Step 4:
An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-registered mobile number
Step 5:
Enter the received OTP to ‘Download Aadhaar’
Step 6:
Now, your Masked Aadhaar Card will be available for download.
