The Hindi proverb ‘Ja ko rakhe saiyan mar sake na koi’ proved to be true once again. After battling death for 105 hours in the Janjgir-Champa district of Chhattisgarh, Rahul finally won the battle for life.
Rahul, who was trapped in a borewell, was rescued and taken out safely and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospitsal in the Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh.
The rescue team descended into the borewell pit about 65 feet below ground level to rescue Rahul and pulled him out to safely after a lot of hard work. As soon as Rahul came out of the tunnel, he opened his eyes and saw the world once again. This was a big moment of happiness for everyone.
The largest rescue operation in the country was carried out under the leadership of Collector Jitendra Kumar Shukla. The rescue team has given a new lease of life to innocent Rahul by carrying out this operation which lasted for 5 days due to repeated strong rocks coming in the way of tunnel making.
With the success of this rescue, an atmosphere of happiness was created all over the country. After Rahul was taken out, a medical examination was conducted by the medical team present on the spot. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Rahul was immediately sent to Apollo Hospital Bilaspur by constructing a green corridor for better treatment. However, with the safe evacuation of Rahul Sahu, everyone has breathed a sigh of relief.
Rahul Sahu fell into an 80 feet borewell while playing in the backyard of his house in Piharid village of Malkharoda development block at around 2 pm on June 10 and got trapped at a depth of about 60 feet.
A total of more than 500 personnel, including National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) officers, army, police and local administration, were engaged in a massive rescue operation that began on Friday evening.
