Tejashwi Yadav demands withdrawal of 'Agnipath' scheme, points at 'hidden agenda' of RSS

New Delhi:

Bihar has been witnessing outrageous protests since the time ‘Agnipath’ scheme was rolled out. The leader of the RJD, Tejashwi Yadav held a press conference on Sunday. He claimed that there were many doubts about the scheme in the minds of the youth. He demanded that the ‘Agnipath’ scheme should be withdrawn.

He further asked whether it is a MGNREGA-like scheme for the educated youth or is there a ‘hidden agenda’ of the RSS in it.

Tejashwi Yadav has appealed to the youth that they should continue the protest peacefully against the ‘Agnipath’ scheme. He also appealed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi should break his silence on the entire issue.

He further said that the government was creating ground to implement ‘one rank, one pension’, however, what they are giving now is a scheme of “no rank, no pension”.

The RJD leader further raised around 20 questions to the government. He also asserted that there were many confusions in the mind of people and the government is certainly accountable to clear these clouded judgements.

He also asked the Narendra Modi-led BJP government that why is the ‘Agnipath’ scheme not for the youths who are willing to serve in the Indian armed forces.

He said, “Protests are taking place throughout the country and there is anger among those who want to become soldiers”.

Tejashwi Yadav has demanded an immediate withdrawal of the scheme.

He concluded by saying that the BJP’s claims of blaming the Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) for the arson and violence, that has veiled the state of Bihar following the roll out of the ‘Agnipath’ scheme, is highly condemnable.

In response to BJP’s claim, the RJD leader said that the onus of all the protests taking place in Bihar, and largely, in India is because of the Center’s inability of explaining the scheme to the common masses. He said that BJP is absolutely responsible for all these demonstrations but they keep on blaming the Oppositioin for this.

He has further posted on Facebook that, ‘on June 22, at 9 am, all the honorable MLAs of the ‘Mahagathbandhan’ will march on foot from the Vidhan Sabha to the Raj Bhavan, demanding jobs for the youth and the return of the Agneepath scheme’.
