Tata motors sells highest number of EVs in May 2022, sets new record

Tata Motors has disclosed its sales figures for May 2022. The company sold 43,341 cars last month, and registered to sell more than ever before. Happily, though, it has also recorded its monthly sales of electric vehicles. In May 2022, Tata Motors sold 3,454 EVs in India, registering a large YoY growth rate of 626 percent.

At the same time last year, EV sales of Mumbai-based car manufacturers were only 476 units. In addition, the company posted a MoM growth rate of 48 percent in May 2022 as in April this year, it managed to sell 2,322 units of electric vehicles. Although Dad has yet to unveil the smart sales figures, the Nexon EV has been selling well.

The Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles electric car component includes three vehicles, namely the Tigor EV, the Nexon EV, and the recently launched Nexon EV Max. The Tata Tigor EV receives a 26kWh lithium-ion battery and has a required driving distance of 306 km per charge. Its electric engine produces 75 hp & 170 Nm and currently costs from Rs 12.49 lakh, a former exhibition space.

The Tata Nexon EV gets a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery while the Nexon EV Max gets a larger 40.5kWh unit. According to the results, they produce 129 hp & 245 Nm and 143 hp & 250 Nm, respectively. The Nexon EV is said to be 312 km per charge and the Max version is limited to 437 km per charge. They cost from Rs 14.79 lakh and Rs 17.74 lakh, the venue of the previous exhibition, respectively.
