Stock Market Update: Share market falls for 3rd consecutive day; Sensex, Nifty decline

Share Market Update:

For the third day in a row, the Indian domestic stock market is witnessing a decline amid weak signals from the global market.

On the second day of this trading week, today, Tuesday (June 7), the Indian stock market started trading with a decline. Both the market indices are open at the red mark.

The rupee opened weaker against the dollar in the foreign exchange market today. The rupee opened 9 paise lower at 77.72 against the dollar today. On Monday, the rupee weakened by 1 paise to close at 77.63 against the dollar.

In early trade, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s (BSE) key sensory index, the BSE Sensex, slipped 570 points, while the NSE Nifty opened below 16,500. At present, the Sensex is trading at 55,144, up 532 points, while the Nifty is down 154 points at 16,416.

A total of 1,316 companies started trading on the BSE today, with about 690 stocks opening higher and 535 lower. While the share prices of 91 companies opened without decreasing or increasing. Also today 17 stocks are trading at 52-week highs and 17 stocks are trading at 52-week lows. Meanwhile, 55 stocks have had upper circuit since this morning and 48 stocks have had lower circuit.

Big stocks rising and falling today

– In today’s trading session, auto, realty, financial stocks are showing decline. Nifty Bank, Auto, Financial Services, FMCG, IT, Media, Metal, Pharma, PSU Bank, Private Bank, Realty, Healthcare and Consumer Durable Sectors are trading in the red.

– Today only the Nifty oil and gas sector is visible in the green. Out of the top 30 shares of the Sensex, only 3 shares are showing the green mark. Today, shares of NTPC, Reliance and Power Grid are trading in the green.

Earlier in the day, the Sensex slipped 94 points to close at 55,675, while the Nifty closed 15 points lower at 16,569.

This was the state of the stock market last week

– On Friday (July 3), the BSE Sensex fell 49 points to 55,769 and the NSE Nifty slipped 44 points to close at 16,584.

– On Thursday (July 2), the BSE Sensex jumped 437 points or 0.79 per cent to close at 55,818, while the NSE Nifty rose 105 points or 0.64 per cent to close at 16,628.

– On Wednesday (June 1), the BSE Sensex Index fell 185 points to 55,381 and the NSE Nifty Index slipped 62 points to close at 16,523.

– The Sensex closed at 55,566 points on Tuesday (May 31) with a loss of 359 points (0.64 per cent). While the Nifty fell 76 points (0.46 per cent) to 16584 points.

– On Monday (May 30), the BSE Sensex closed at 55925 points with a gain of 1041 points (1.90 per cent). On the other hand, the NSE Nifty gained 308 points (1.89 per cent) to 16661 points.
