Stock Market Update: Sensex, Nifty decline for For 3rd consecutive day

The Indian stock market has started trading for the third day in a row amid weak global market signals. On Wednesday (June 15), the third day of this trading week, the stock market is also witnessing a decline. Both the market indices are trading at the red mark.

The rupee opened weaker against the dollar in the foreign exchange market today. Today, the rupee opened 2 paise weaker at 78.05 against the dollar. On Tuesday, the rupee strengthened by 5 paise to close at 77.98 against the dollar.

In early trade, the Bombay Stock Exchange’s (BSE) 30-stock benchmark Sensex opened 43 points, or 0.08 per cent, lower at 52,650, while the NSE’s 50-stock NSE Nifty fell 2 points. Open at the level of 15729. However, with the market opening, the decline started again. At present, the Sensex slipped 110 points to 52,584, while the Nifty traded 18 points lower at 15,703.

A total of 1,231 companies started trading on the BSE today, of which about 864 stocks opened higher and 295 lower. While the share prices of 72 companies opened without decreasing or increasing. Also today 25 stocks are trading at 52 week highs and 16 stocks are trading at 52 week lows. Meanwhile, 65 stocks have had upper circuit since this morning and 56 stocks have had lower circuit.

Big stocks rising and falling today

– Today’s rising stocks M&M is up 1.52 per cent. Shares of Bajaj Finserv and Tata Motors are up 1.35 per cent. Tata Steel is up 1.05 per cent and Bajaj Finance is up 1.03 per cent.

– Looking at today’s falling stocks, Reliance is down 1.36 per cent and HDFC is down 0.70 per cent. HUL and BPCL remain down 0.59 per cent. Coal India is trading with a weakness of 0.57 per cent.

– On Tuesday (June 14) both the indexes closed at the red mark. The BSE Sensex fell 153 points to 52,694, while the NSE Nifty slipped 64 points to close at 15,732.

– On Monday (June 13), the BSE Sensex Index closed at 52847 with a sharp fall of 1457 points, while the NSE Nifty Index closed at 15774 with a decrease of 427 points.
