Walasmulla Magistrate Maheshika Wijetunga yesterday (8) ordered the release of the son and daughter-in-law of SJB Parliamentarian Dilip Wedaarachchi on bail.
They were ordered to be released on bail with two sureties of Rs. 200,000 each.
Ravindu Wedaarachchi and his wife were prevented from entering the expressway by police officers on duty when they attempted to enter the expressway at the Bendigama interchange on the Southern Expressway with a refrigerator in the back of a cab belonging to them.
The suspects had verbally abused the police officers and obstructed their duty.
