"She Will Be A Great President": PM Modi congratulates Draupadi Murmu

Draupadi Murmu will be the first woman in the nation to take the top constitutional seat if elected, which is likely to be the case as numbers have piled up in favor of the BJP-led NDA.

Draupadi Murmu, the BJP national leader from Odisha, is the ruling NDA member in the presidential election. “I hope he will be the new President of our nation,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his Twitter congratulations to the former Jharkhand governor.

The 64-year-old woman will be the first woman in the nation to hold a senior constitutional position if elected, which is more likely as the numbers are set in favor of the BJP-led NDA.

“Millions of people, especially those who have experienced poverty and hardship, are finding great strength in the lives of St. Droupadi Murmu Ji,” the Prime Minister said in a tweet.

Earlier, Yashwant Sinha was elected as the party’s opposition leader. Leaders of 13 non-BJP parties, which met in the national capital at a meeting convened by NCP chief executive Sharad Pawar, who had previously rejected a proposal to run for president, to decide who would run in the presidential election, agreed with Mr Sinha. name.

A Presidential election is scheduled for July 18. Elections are held indirectly through an electoral college electing members of Parliament and regional legislatures and Union constituencies.

The BJP-led coalition is estimated to have more than 48 percent of the vote in the electoral college of about 10.86 lakh votes. The group hopes that non-aligned regional groups will be supported.
