After the violence in Uttar Pradesh (UP), the Yogi Adityanath government has sprung into action. Section 144 has been implemented in several areas where there is an anticipation of violence.
Meanwhile, 255 miscreants have been arrested so far for the violence that took place after Friday prayers. According to ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar, most arrests have been made from Prayagraj.
So far 68 arrests have been made from Prayagraj, while 65 arrests have been made from Shaharanpur. Besides, 50 people have been detained from Hathras, 27 from Moradabad, 13 from Firozabad, 3 from Aligarh, 2 from Jalaun and 28 from Ambedkarnagar.
The police have taken Javed Ahmed alias Pump into custody in a case of violence that erupted after Friday prayers in Prayagraj. Accused Javed is being questioned in the case. Javed’s illegal constructions may also be demolished.
According to sources, some leaders of AIMIM may also be involved in inciting violence in Prayagraj. While the police suspect that Javed Pump’s daughter also worked to incite riots through WhatsApp. The police are also tracking his WhatsApp, phone and chat. If anyone is found guilty during the investigation, action will be taken against him under the Gangster Act.
