'Profuse bleeding, post-Covid fungal infection': Congress on Sonia Gandhi being admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital

New Delhi:

Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President, is being treated at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. The Congress stated this on Friday, six days before her appearance before the ED on June 23. “The Congress President was admitted to Ganga Ram Hospital on the afternoon of June 12 after she was bleeding profusely from his nose due to a recent Covid infection,” Jairam Ramesh, AICC General Secretary (Communications) said in a statement.

Ramesh further said that Gandhi was treated right away and had to go through the necessary follow-up procedures yesterday morning. In addition, a fungal infection has been discovered in his lower respiratory tract. She is currently being treated for other post-Covid symptoms. She is constantly monitored and treated.

The ED had previously summoned Sonia Gandhi for questioning on money laundering charges in the National Herald case on June 8. However, after Sonia was identified as Kovid and requested more time to appear, the agency issued a new summons for June 23.

In the same case, the ED has already questioned Rahul Gandhi for three days and has summoned him again on Monday.
