A Police Sergeant attached to the Tangalle Police Station committed suicide by shooting himself opposite the Tangalle DIG’s office.
The sergeant is a 46-year-old resident of Weeraketiya. The Police said that the sergeant had used his official weapon to commit suicide.
Police Media Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that investigations are being carried out by the Tangalle Police to determine the reason for the sergeant’s suicide.
