Pistol borne terrorists shot dead Police Inspector in Pulwama Kashmir

A 50-year-old Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub Inspector was shot dead by terrorists during evening hours on Friday at Pampora area of Samboora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Top police officials told News24 “Dead body of Farooq Ahmad Mir, Police Sub Inspector ministerial posted in IRP 23 battalion was found dead in paddy fields near his home at Samboora Pampore”. Officials said Preliminary investigation reveals that he had left his home for work in his paddy fields yesterday in the evening, where he was shot dead by militants using a pistol”.

Official sources said, Farooq Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Gani Mir resident of Samboora was shot dead by militants near his home while working in paddy fields around 8:00pm yesterday. Two pistol cartridges have been also found at the incident spot.

Officials said Police Sub Inspector who was posted around 10 kilometers away from his residence at Lethpora Awantipora, had left the office yesterday and went on leave for home. Soon he went to the paddy fields where pistol borne terrorists killed him in darkness and escape from the area. SI Farooq Ahmad Mir is survived by his father, wife and three children.

Earlier this month a ED bank manager from Rajasthan Vijay Kumar was killed by pistol borne terrorists in Kulgam South Kashmir and before that during last month in May besides two on leave Jammu and Kashmir police cops militants had killed Migrant Kashmiri Pandith employee Rahul Bhat and TV-Actress Anbreen Bhat in Chadura and a school teacher Rajni Bala in Kulgam using same pistol target killing pattern.

Although forces have also intensified operations against terrorists and have killed 105 terrorists including 30 Pakistani terrorists this year so far, but forces are yet to succeed in stopping the target killings by terrorists across Kashmir Valley.
