Pass Youth Parliament by an Act in Parliament - PM

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has instructed Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Roshan Ranasinghe to take action to have the Youth Parliament passed by an Act in Parliament.

This was discussed at a meeting held between the Prime Minister and Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry officials on Monday.

The Prime Minister has agreed to provide financial support to empower the country’s youth population.

Minister Ranasinghe has informed the Premier that steps will be taken in the future to produce skilled labourers through the National Youth Services Council and the National Youth Corps targeting the international job market and also to produce youth entrepreneurs for the local and foreign markets.

PM Wickremesinghe has also informed the officials that it is expected to launch the ‘Youth Cultivation Battle’ in collaboration with the ministries of Sports and Youth Affairs and Irrigation and provide those youth farmers with required infrastructure facilities.
