Non-local Bank Manager, Labourer killed by terrorists In Kashmir

Terrorists shot dead a bank manager from Rajasthan and a labourer from Bihar while injured another non-local worker in two separate terrorist attacks today in Kashmir Valley.

Officials told News24 that first attack took place at Arreh area of Kulgam South Kashmir when a masked terrorist barged in the Elaqai Dehati bank branch and shot dead the bank manager Vijay Kumar from point blank range. Police officials told News24 that terrorist had fired a single bullet on the chest of manager which left him dead on the spot, he was shifted to hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

CCTV footage of the terrorist attack shows how a terrorist fired a single pistol shot from point blank range inside the bank while Kumar was working in his office chamber. Soon after carrying the attack, the terrorist flees without firing any more buttet rounds. Soon after the attack, police and security forces cordoned off the entire area to nab the attackers nut couldn’t find them. 

Police has confiscated the computer system and CCTV footage of the bank branch for further investigation and have detained several persons for the questioning.

Meanwhile two non-locals were fired upon by terrorists barely 11 hours after the killing of Vijay Kumar. The second attack took place today late evening when the two non-local labourers were fired upon by terrorists in Magraypora area of Budgam district in central Kashmir. One had bullet wound in hand and other received firearm injury in the neck. Both were immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, but one among them succumbed to the injuries. Sources identified the deceased as Dilkhush of Bihar, who was working as a labourer at Brick Kiln.

“Militants fired upon 02 outside labourers working in a Brick Kiln in Chadoora area of Budgam. The duo was shifted to hospital for treatment where one among them succumbed,” police said in a tweet. Soon after the attack whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers but like Kulgam the terrorists couldn’t be traced.

Besides locals and religious leaders, Political parties alsl condemned the killing of the manager and labourer, terming the innocent killings as barbaric and inhuman. PDP in a tweet said: “Mayhem! Two more civilians shot at in Budgam. Total breakdown of Law & Order. Will the govt still parrot the narrative of normalcy or has it internalised its own propaganda. Condolences with Dilkhush’s family & praying for speedy recovery to the other.Has peace been ‘established’?”

Former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in a tweet said: “Condemn yet another targeted killing today of Vijay Kumar, a bank manager working in Kulgam. Heartfelt condolences to his family. May his soul rest in peace.

As per local news agencies terrorist outfit The resistance from ‘TRF’ and another little known terrorist outfit Jammu Kashmir Freedom Fighters ‘JKFF’ has claimed the responsibility of the attack on bank manager in Kulgam. Both the terrorist outfits has threatened to carry out more such attacks.

Two days ago on 31st May terrorists had killed a female school teacher Rajni Bala from Samba Jammu outside her school in Gopalpora Kulgam. The rise in fresh target killings has increased fears among the migrant Kashmiri Pandits living in Kashmir, sources said that many migrant employees have started to send their families outside Jammu. Some employees have left today itself to save their lives.

Most of the protesting Kashmiri Pandit migrant employees told News24 that they are waiting for the government response till 6th June and if their demand of relocation from Kashmir till situation improves here, aren’t met by the government, all employees along with their families will start mass migration from Kashmir.
