No Litro Gas distribution today

Litro Gas announced that there will be no gas distribution today for the seventh consecutive day due to the inability to pay the dues to the gas ship that arrived on the island.

The ship containing 3,900 metric tons of LP Gas which arrived in the island on June 8 has not been able to be released so far due to not having enough dollars to pay for that ship. Litro Gas had to pay a late fee for the ship for seven days, including today. Accordingly, Litro said it would pay US$ 2.5 million for the ship’s gas inventory except the late charges.

However, our provincial correspondents across the island point out that despite the gas supply being disrupted, people are still queuing up to get LP gas at gas retail outlets.
