Superstar Nayanthara tied the knot with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan in a close-knit ceremony in Mahabalipuram on June 9. The wedding was attended by the who’s who of Tollywood and Kollywood along with Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. After dating for almost seven years, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan took the plunge and got married. If reports are to be believed, the couple will soon be hosting a grand reception for their friends and colleagues from the film industry.
Nayanthara is a popular face down South and is also set to make her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Atlee’s Jawan. The film was announced earlier this month. She will soon begin shooting for the project, as per media reports. Amid this, reports are coming in that Naynathra will refrain from doing any intimate scenes in films post-wedding with Vignesh Shivan. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, “Nayanthara will no longer do romantic scenes with her male co-stars.”
Recently, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan courted controversy during their Tirupati visit post-wedding. On June 10, Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan visited Tirupati to seek the blessings of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. The couple, clad in their traditional attires, posed for shutterbugs who were stationed outside the temple premise to get a glimpse of the newlyweds. After the pictures of the couple went viral on social media platforms, it was observed that the actor was seen wearing footwear inside the temple premise, which is strictly prohibited. This led Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, the temple’s governing body, to take action against Nayanthara. In an interaction with ANI, a temple board member said that a legal notice will soon be sent to Nayanthara. However, the matter was settled after the actor and her husband sent an apology and wrote a letter to concerned authorities.
“In the hurry for a quick picture we did not realise we had our footwear on when we got back later for it outside the temple. We are a couple who go to temples regularly and have immense faith in God. We have been to Tirumala almost 5 times in the past 30 days trying to do our wedding there.” Vignesh said in the letter.
