National Herald case: Rahul Gandhi arrives at ED office for second round of interrogation

New Delhi:

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday arrived at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in the national capital for the second round of interrogation. Gandhi who is being quizzed in the National Herald money laundering case, had gone through the first round earlier in the day.

While leaving his residence earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by Congress senior leader and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other party leaders like Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel.

Owing to which, many party leaders were detained by the Delhi Police amid slogans in support of party leader Rahul Gandhi.

The ED had on Friday issued a new summons to Sonia Gandhi to appear on June 23 for questioning in the National Herald Money Laundering case.

According to sources, Congress MPs and members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) have also been asked to be present in Delhi on Monday. A meeting of General Secretaries of All India Congress Committee (AICC), State in-charge and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) heads was convened on Thursday to decide the strategy for this.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police today refused to allow a Congress rally on Monday (June 13, 2022) against Rahul Gandhi’s interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with the National Herald case.

Delhi Police cited law and order as not allowing the rally. Congress sources said that the party has again approached the Delhi Police and asked them to reconsider the decision.
