National Herald Case: Congress to hold nationwide protests against ED interrogation of Rahul Gandhi

National Herald Case:

The Congress, angry over the ED’s interrogation of Rahul Gandhi for the third day in a row, has planned a nationwide protest. 

Congress leader Randeep Surjewala has said that tomorrow party workers will besiege the Governor House of every state and the day after tomorrow they will hold demonstrations in every district headquarters.

Speaking at a press conference, Surjewala said, “In complete hooliganism by the Delhi Police on the stand of the government, they entered the Congress office and beat the workers. This is criminal trespass. Their hooliganism has reached its peak. It will not be tolerated and it will be accounted for.”

The Congress leader said, “We demand that FIRs be registered, they be suspended and disciplinary inquiry be started. All the Congress leaders will hold a press conference today. Tomorrow the Congress will besiege all the palaces across India. There will be protests at the district level the day after tomorrow. “

Rahul Gandhi has been interrogated for about 2 hours. In the midst of all this, protests continue outside the Congress and ED offices. Outside the ED office, Congress workers from different states are arriving and protesting.

Earlier, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the first women leaders of the Congress started protesting, who were immediately taken into custody. Veteran Congress leaders sat on a dharna in the office against the police intrusion and assault. Every leader who leaves office is being taken into custody.

Yesterday, Rahul Gandhi was questioned by the ED for about 12 hours, while before that he was also questioned for about 9:15 hours on Monday. According to sources, ED officials are not satisfied with Rahul Gandhi’s reply, Rahul Gandhi did not go to the Congress office today and he went directly to the ED office. His sister Priyanka Gandhi was also present with him.
