Maharashtra Political Crisis:

Shiv Sena MLA Nitin Deshmukh has made a startling claim amidst the raging political crisis in Maharashtra. Nitin Deshmukh has claimed that veteran Shiv Sena MLA Eknath Shinde – who has revolted against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray – kidnapped him and took him to Surat.  

Nitin Deshmukh has alleged that he was beaten up in Surat before he managed to escape and reach Nagpur.

“I escaped and was standing on the road at around 3 in the morning trying to hitch a ride from pssersby when over a hundred cops came and took me to a hospital. They pretended that I had a heart attack and tried to conduct some medical procedure on my body,” he told the media.

“I am ofcourse with Uddhav Thackeray,” he added.

On Tuesday, Nitin Deshmukh’s wife Pranjali had lodged a complaint at the Akola police station, claiming a threat to his life.

on Wednesday morning, a group of about 40 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs along with their leader Eknath Shinde left their hotel in Surat in Gujarat on Wednesday and reached Guwahati in Assam at around 7 am. Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders received the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs at the Guwahati airport.

Eknath Shinde has claimed that he has the support of 46 MLAs, including 37 from the Shiv Sena.

Speaking to the media at the Guwahati airport, 58-year-old Shinde, an MLA from Thane district, said, “A total of 40 Shiv Sena MLAs are present here. We will take forward Balasaheb Thackeray’s Hindutva.”

“We have not and will not leave Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena.”

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the ruling coalition in Maharashtra, held a meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday under the leadership of chief minister Uddhav Thackeray amid the raging political crisis in the state.

According to reports, only 1 Shiv Sena MLA attended the meeting.

Despite being pushed into a corner due to the revolt by dozens of Shiv Sema MLAs, Uddhav Thackeray sounded a defiant note after the meeting.

“We will see what happens in the future,” Uddhav Thackeray told the media after the meeting.
