Maharashtra Political Crisis:
The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the ruling coalition in Maharashtra, held a meeting in Mumbai on Wednesday under the leadership of chief minister Uddhav Thackeray amid the raging political crisis in the state.
According to reports, only 1 Shiv Sena MLA attended the meeting.
Despite being pushed into a corner due to the revolt by dozens of Shiv Sema MLAs, Uddhav Thackeray sounded a defiant note after the meeting.
“We will see what happens in the future,” Uddhav Thackeray told the media after the meeting.
Earlier, A group of about 40 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs along with their leader Eknath Shinde left their hotel in Surat in Gujarat on Wednesday and reached Assam at around 7 am. Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders received the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs at the Guwahati airport.
Speaking to the media at the Guwahati airport, 58-year-old Shinde, an MLA from Thane district, said, “A total of 40 Shiv Sena MLAs are present here. We will take forward Balasaheb Thackeray’s Hindutva.”
Earlier, talking to the media at Surat International Airport, Shinde said, “We have not and will not leave Balasaheb Thackeray’s Shiv Sena.”
