Lanka Teacher’s Union (LTU) president Priyantha Fernado who was arrested over the alleged assault on a teacher was released on bail with personal sureties of Rs.200,000 each by Anuradhapura Additional District judge Nalaka Jayasuriya yesterday. He was arrested by the Anuradhapura Police over the alleged assault that took place at Bulankulama road in Anuradhapura. Police started investigating into the incident based on a complaint received by the Anuradhapura Police. He was ordered to appear in Court on August 6.
