Kashmir: Banihal school pays tribute to late school teacher Rajni Bala

Banihal (Jammu and Kashmir):

In the memory of late school teacher Rajni Bala, all the students and staff members of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Banihal on Thursday observed silence for two minutes to pay tribute. Bala was  killed by terrorists in the Kulgam district of Kashmir.

Students were seen standing bowing their heads to remember Rajni Bala who became one of the targets of the innocent killings in Kashmir.

The killing of Bala created fear amongst the non-local government employees. Following which, Kashmiri Pandits in a huge number staged a massive demonstration demanding immediate transfers to their home districts. During the protests, placards and the picture of Rajni Bala, were raised.

The teacher said that the protesting employees also urged to provide free education to her minor daughter as well as a government job to her.

The protestors chanted slogans and demanded to relocate the government employees. The protestors marched from Press Club to Ambedkar Chowk.

The demonstration was carried out under the banner of ‘All Jammu-based reserved categories employees association’. The agitating government employees threatened that they will not return to work as the government could not provide them a secure atmosphere to live in the valley.

Another teacher among the protestors demanded for the relocation saying that it will be hard to provide security to each government employee. She also refused the transfer within the valley claiming that no place is secure in Kashmir.

The demonstrators blamed the administration for not providing security to the government employees and said that they will not resume their work and become scapegoats. They said they lost faith in the administration.
