Gyanvapi Row:
Varanasi Civil Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar, who ordered the video survey of the Gyanvapi complex, has been transferred to Bareilly. According to the information received, Diwakar is among the 121 civil judges transferred by the Allahabad High Court on Monday evening.
The transferred judges are to assume office by July 4. Terming Diwakar’s transfer as “regular”, the sources said that there was no connection with the sensitive Gyanvapi case which he is hearing.
Earlier, Diwakar had also claimed to have received death threats during the hearing of the case. The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government had increased his security.

Gyanvapi Case: Updates so far
On June 10, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court had refused to entertain a PIL seeking setting up of a committee, headed by a retired or sitting judge of the Supreme Court or High Court, in Varanasi.

was to find out the truth about the structure found in the mosque complex.
After a lengthy hearing on the Public Interest Litigation (PIL), a vacation bench of Justices Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Subhash Vidyarthi dismissed the petition and said it would issue a detailed order later.
The Hindu side claimed that a Shivling was found during a videography survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid-Shringar Gauri complex last month.

The claim was disputed by members of the mosque committee, who said it was part of a water fountain in the Vazukhana reservoir, used by devotees to perform rituals before offering prayers.
The PIL was filed by Sudhir Singh, Ravi Mishra, Mahant Balak Das, Shivendra Pratap Singh, Markandeya Tiwari, Rajiv Rai and Atul Kumar claiming themselves to be devotees of Lord Shiva.
