Jammu and Kashmir: Terrorist killed in Sopore, encounter continues in Pulwama

An unidentified terrorist has been killed in an ongoing encounter in the Tulibal area of Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Meanwhile, an exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces continues during an ongoing encounter in the Pulwama district.

Official sources told News 24 that currently two operations are underway, one each in south and north Kashmir.

Officials said that one terrorist has been killed so far in the ongoing operation in Sopore, while exchange of fire between the trapped terrorists and a joint team of security forces is on in the Tujan area of Pulwama, where two terrorists are suspected to be trapped.

Officials further said that on specific inputs about the presence of terrorists, a search operation was launched at the Tulibal area of Sopore and at Tujan in Pulwama and both the operations turned into an encounter as the terrorists opened fire on the search parties.

In the ongoing month, 16 encounters have been reported in Kashmir in which 26 terrorists have been killed while 115 terrorists have been killed, including 32 terrorists from Pakistan so far.
