New Delhi:

As the contest for winning the Indian Premier League media rights reach its peak, sources have revealed that it has been finalized for almost 100 cr per game.

The bidding is going on for the cycle of 2023-2027 and the after many parties participated and pulled back from the bid as it broke all previous scales.

As per report by NDTV, The TV and Digital right, Package A and Package B, have been sold to two different parties for a sum total of Rs 43,050 crore and the speculation are high for it to go even higher.

As the two parties challenge each other, there are chances that the total money spent on media right for IPL can go higher than this. Sources suggested that Amazon pulled out of the auction race.

Early in 2017, Star India had edged out Sony Pictures to secure the media rights with a bid of Rs 16,347.50 crore in September 2017. With this deal, the cost of an IPL match had become around Rs 55 crore.

Sony Pictures Network was the first to win the media rights back in 2008 and it was for the time period of 10 years. With the bid of Rs 8200 crore, Sony aired it for 10 years and the global digital rights of IPL for a period of three years were awarded to Novi Digital in 2015 for 302.2 crore.
