IMF positive on re-establishing financial discipline - UNP

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed positive remarks over the programme of the Government to re-establish financial discipline in the country, UNP Deputy Leader Ruwan Wijewardene said.

Speaking to the media yesterday, he said that he held a discussion with the IMF delegation on Monday and the above remarks were expressed during that meeting.

Meanwhile, the IMF and the Prime Minister’s Office will conduct a workshop for media personnel on the affairs of the IMF. The aim of the workshop is to disseminate correct information to Sri Lankans on the affairs of the IMF.

The workshop will be held locally as well as at the IMF Headquarters in Washington.
