Delhi: In view of Congress' protest, traffic police issue advisory; DO NOT travel on THIS route today

In view of the Congress’ protests against the Enforcement Directorate (ED) probe into Rahul Gandhi’s case related to the National Herald case, the Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued a new advisory.

Delhi Traffic Police said that between 8 am and 12 noon, “The movement of buses beyond Gol Dak Khana Junction, Patel Chowk, Windsor Place, Teen Murti Chowk and Prithviraj Road in New Delhi will be restricted. Please Motilal Nehru Marg, Avoid Akbar Road, Janpath and Man Singh Road. Traffic movement will not be possible on these roads due to special arrangements.”

Between 8 am and 12 noon, travelers are advised to avoid Gol Methi Junction, Tughlaq Road Junction, Claridges Junction, Q-Point Junction, Sunhari Masjid Junction, Maulana Azad Road Junction and Man Singh Road Junction, as Significant traffic is expected on these roads due to the special arrangement.

According to Delhi Traffic Police, commuters should also avoid SP Marg, Dhaula Kuan Flyover and Gurgaon Road in the morning. The Congress will hold peaceful protests across the country on Monday against the alleged “vendetta politics” of the federal government, as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to appear before the ED for the fourth round of questioning.

The ED questioned the Wayanad MP from June 13 to 15, despite strong protests by party functionaries and workers. The ED had called Gandhi to appear again on Friday (June 17), but it requested that he be granted exemption and a new date be fixed for Monday (June 20).

Later, the ED issued fresh summons to Rahul Gandhi to join the probe on Monday, asking the agency to postpone his questioning from June 17 to June 20, citing the health condition of his mother and Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi. requested to consider.

The Congress will hold “peaceful” protests against the Agnipath recruitment scheme across the country on June 20.

Congress General Secretary-in-Charge Sanchar Jairam Ramesh earlier on Twitter said, “Tomorrow lakhs of Congress workers across the country will continue their peaceful protest against Yuva Agnipath scheme and against the Modi government’s vendetta politics targeting their MP Rahul Gandhi. Congress’s one The delegation will also meet the President in the evening.”
