Covid-19 Update: Dip in coronavirus cases amid renewed pandemic fears

Covid-19 Update:

India on Tuesday reported 9,923 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a decline of 22.4 per cent compared to yesterday, according to data shared by the Union Health Ministry.

With this the total caseload of the country has gone up to 4,33,19,396.

Meanwhile, 17 people have died in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 5,24,890.

India’s active caseload is 79,313. The active coronavirus cases have increased by 2,613 in the last 24 hours.

A total of 7,293 patients were cured in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured patients across the country to 4,27,15,193. Now the recovery rate is 98.61%.

The top five states that have reported the maximum number of Covid-19 cases are Kerala with 2,786 cases, followed by Maharashtra with 2,354 cases, Delhi with 1,060 cases, Tamil Nadu with 686 cases and Haryana with 684 cases.

These five states account for 76.28 per cent of the new Covid-19 cases, with Kerala alone accounting for 28.08 per cent of the new cases.

India has given a total of 13,00,024 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of doses administered to 1,96,32,43,003.

A total of 3,88,641 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
